Passport Vista Sailing Yacht Refit 

Manaia Marine had some incredible opportunities to manage refits and maintenance projects for clients this year. In this blog post we break down a recently completed project and the custom solutions we created for our client.

Our client is the owner of a beautiful Passport Vista. He contacted us first in January of 2024 to complete a few general maintenance jobs, which quickly grew into a project list for Manaia Marine that included organising new solar panels, generator work and rigging upgrades. 

 

The full project included:

  • Haul out at Marsden Cove Marina and Hardstand

  • Solar panel installation with custom stainless steel solar arch

  • Installation of a Victron 150/100 smart solar controller and a Lynx distribution system to go with new solar panels 

  • Generator maintenance

  • Rigging upgrades and maintenance

  • Starlink upgrade 

  • Interior and exterior detailing

The new solar panel installation involved the design and build of a custom solar panel arch, built to hold 3x 440 watt solar panels. Manaia Marine worked closely with the team at Invil Fabrication to co-design and build the solar arch, and install it on the stern of the vessel. 

 

We engaged Independent Riggers to complete the rigging upgrades. A couple busy weeks saw their team remove the mast and replace all of the standing rigging before refitting and testing everything. Manaia Marine took the opportunity while the mast was down to give her a polish and wax too!

 

The Manaia Marine team completed generator maintenance and servicing. We installed the Victron smart solar controller and Lynx distribution system to complete the new solar system, and we upgraded our client’s Starlink.

 

Our client was overseas for the majority of this project, so Project Manager Kyle Taylor communicated regularly with him to ensure a seamless and stress free experience. 

 

Before our client returned home, we finished the project with a full interior and exterior detail. The hull, topsides and mast were polished and waxed, the stainless was cleaned and polished, and the interior received a deep clean from Cat at Cove Vessel Care.
